The Seven Feasts of Moses

The Seven Feasts of Moses
The Torah - the five books of Moses - details seven feasts during the Hebrew calendar:1 Three feasts are in the spring, in the month of Nisan: Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and the Feast of First Fruits. Then fifty days later there is the Feast of Weeks, Shavout, also known as Pentecost.
There are three remaining feasts in the fall, in the month of Tishri: the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), and the Feast of Tabernacles. (There are two reckonings of the Hebrew year: the civil year starts in the fall on the 1st of Tishri; the religious calendar starts in the spring in the month of Nisan.2 )

Their Prophetic Role
While each of these feasts has a historical commemorative role, they also have a prophetic role. Jesus indicated this in Matthew 5:17:
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Paul also emphasized that in Romans 15:4:
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning...
The prophetic role of the feasts is also highlighted in Colossians 2:16 and 17:
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: which are a shadow of things to come...

The Feast of Trumpets
The Jewish New Year (Rosh Ha' Shana), along with the Feast of Trumpets, begins on the 1st of Tishri.
Immediately following the Feast of Trumpets begins the seven Days of Affliction, in anticipation of the Day of Atonement, or Yom Kippur.

Yom Kippur
Yom Kippur , the Day of Atonement,3 is observed on the 10th of Tishri. This day was a day of sin offerings and numerous other rituals as it was the most solemn of all the observances.
This was the day - the only day - that the High Priest was able to enter the Holy of Holies,4 and then only after elaborate ceremonial washings, offerings, and associated rituals.
This was also the day that two goats were selected, one for an offering and one as the "scapegoat."5
(The lottery box, used to select which goat was to serve in which capacity, has been fashioned for service in the forthcoming Temple and may be seen during a visit to the Temple Institute in Jerusalem today.)
As many aspects of the feasts were prophetic, the scapegoat is also Messianic.6
Even the seven days preceding, the Days of Affliction, are an affliction of preparation, suggestive of the threshing floor, which is also a prophetic idiom.7
Since the loss of the Temple in 70 A.D., the God-centered observances of the Torah have tragically been replaced with a man-centered, good works system of appeasement through prayer, charity, and penitence.
However, it appears that a return to the traditional ways is on the horizon with the plans to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem.8

Succoth (The Feast of Tabernacles)
Five days later, on the 15th of Tishri, is the final feast of the year: Succoth, the Feast of Tabernacles, or the Feast of Booths. This lasts for eight days and is one of the three feasts that were compulsory for all Jewish males.9
It is fascinating to visit Israel at this time and observe them build their temporary "booths" in the traditional way, leaving deliberate gaps in the branches to view the stars at night, and for the wind to blow through during the day. This is intended to remind them of the wilderness wanderings.
At the end of the eight days, they leave their temporary dwellings to return to their permanent homes. (This is one of the reasons some suspect that this feast, rather than the Feast of Trumpets, is suggestive of the Rapture of the Church. Also, there appears to be a hint by Peter, desiring to build "succoths" at the transfiguration.10 ) This day, traditionally, is the day that Solomon dedicated the first Temple.
This feast also involved a daily processional to the Pool of Siloam to fetch water for the Temple. This ceremonial procession is the setting for the events of John 7, where Jesus offers them "living water."11
This procession involved four types of branches: the willow, the myrtle, the palm, and a citrus.12 The willow has no smell and no fruit. The myrtle has smell, but no fruit. The palm has no smell, but bears fruit. The citrus has both smell and bears fruit. This sounds reminiscent of the four soils of the first "kingdom parable" of Matthew 13, doesn't it?13
The prophetic implications of this climactic feast are many. Most scholars associate it with the establishment of the Millennial Kingdom in Israel.14

In Summary
Most observers note that the first three feasts, in the first month of the religious year -Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread, and Feast of First Fruits - are prophetic of the Lord's First Coming. They each were also fulfilled on the day they were observed.
Between these three feasts and the final three feasts is the Feast of Weeks, or Pentecost, which is predictive of the Church. (It is also the only feast in which leavened bread is ordained!)
It is believed that the last three feasts, in the 7th month, are prophetic of the Lord's Second Coming. That is why many are particularly watchful in the fall of each year. For more background, schedule Tov Rose to speak to your group: 651-686-5600.

The Baptism of John from a Jewish Perspective, Part 3

Isaac & Jesus
As mentioned previously, Isaac the son of Abraham nearly died at the hand of his father, Abraham in Genesis 22:
6And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.
7And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
8And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.
9And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
10And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
11And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.
12And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
13And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.
14And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.
15And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,
16And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:
 17That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
18And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. (KJV)
Isaac was spared, but God always intended someone to take his place. Jesus was a direct descendent of Abraham through King David, on his mother’s side. The father of Jesus is God himself, Abraham’s best friend. This would be the same God who orchestrated the promise of Genesis 22, which means that one day, God would provide a way for the promise to ultimately come to fruition. This meant that someone was going to have to be sacrificed on Mount Moriah.
Before that could happen that someone, Jesus, had to be anointed in such a way that he could take Isaac’s place as the firstborn son of Abraham. And guess what? That’s what John did!
What was the baptism of John? What was it specifically that he was doing at the Jordan River?

The Fall of the American Babylon, Part III

The Fall of the American Babylon, Part III

Is America really worse than other nations?
Before that can be answered, two principles of judgment that God uses must be understood.

And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

If we’ve put ‘In God we Trust’ on our money, have had religious freedom to publish the message of the Messiah to the world for more than 200 years, and we are the richest country in history, then we better make good on it. But instead our Churches, followed soon thereafter by our Nation began to spew our self-glorifying filth into the world and abort babies by the millions.

Other nations do the same sorts of things. However, no other nation in history has committed itself from its foundation to God like America has done, nor had the freedoms this people has experienced, or the received blessings of God in such abundance, save one: Israel.

This is why ancient Israel was judged and virtually eradicated from remembrance until 1948. Israel was accountable for receiving God's instructions, knowing them and doing them. A nation that has committed itself to Jesus and His Father from its foundation and then turns its back on Jesus and His Father should expect to receive the same, or worse, for ancient Israel was not gifted with the Revelation of Jesus—and we have been so gifted.

As the Church Goes, So Goes the Nation.
The fact that most American homes have a copy of the Bible carries a responsibility. Americans alone have the full scriptures, free time, and prosperity to study them and practice them--yet do not. Most American Christians don't even know when God is judging their Nation, even though Scripture is clear. For example, we are not to pray against Homosexuality and fight publically to keep homosexuality out of our culture. Doing so is in direct contradiction to God's Judgment on this nation. Don't believe me? Have you even read Romans chapters 1 and 2?
Christians should be repenting for those things that they have allowed into their churches, the compromising the Truth, that has led to the culture turning from God.

Here's a hint: Christians are not to be Purpose Driven, Power of Positive Thinking, Emerging (into what?), or Prosperity minded, but rather, Bible Reading, Bible Believing and Holy Spirit Guided.

What specifically should believers be repenting for? Along with 1 Peter 4:17, this passage from Romans 1: 29-32 is your answer:

"They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them."

Perhaps, if enough believers get on their knees now, it will not be too late for this formerly great nation to reclaim a measure of its spiritual greatness as a beacon of light in this lost and dying world and the USA. In fact, with enough prayer and repentance the Greatest Generation may in fact be yet in front of us.

The Fall of The American Babylon, Part II

Mystery Babylon: 'Economic System' or Actual Nation?
Babylon's greatest sin was introducing into the world the Worship of Money.

Notice that before the final Beast system rises where everyone is required to its mark on their foreheads or right hands (which is easily provable to happen at the start of the Great Tribulation, or 3½ years into the 7 year period of trials for the nation of Israel), a nation called Babylon will have already fallen. This can only be the USA as Jeremiah 50, 51 and Isaiah 47, 48 and Revelation 17, 18 point to as the
only candidate that fits all the Scripture on Mystery Babylon.

There are some interesting parallels between Ancient Babylon and the USA. For example, Ancient Babylon not only standardized commerce throughout the ancient world, but also exported its culture, rituals, designer clothes and fads of the time, and their pagan gods. They also were structured in a very similar manner.

Ancient Babylon was an Empire made up of many different countries it had conquered or made allegiances with. By some estimates there were as many as 127 of these “Provinces.” Contrast this with the United States of America, where originally 13 States or Countries, created a Federal Government for mutual self-interest, specifically to help govern trade between them and other outside governments, and for mutual protection.

Under the United States Constitution, the federal government was assigned specific limited powers and most government functions were left to the States. To ensure that people understood the limits on federal power, the Framers added the Constitution's Tenth Amendment:

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

The Tenth Amendment embodies federalism, the idea that federal and state governments have separate areas of activity and that federal responsibilities were "few and defined," as James Madison noted. Historically, federalism acted as a safeguard of American freedoms. Indeed, President Ronald Reagan noted in a 1987 executive order:

"Federalism is rooted in the knowledge that our political liberties are best assured by limiting the size and scope of the national government."

In other words, today the USA is a group of 50 separate countries that have covenanted together in order to form a super-government to oversee issues of mutual concern, specifically Commerce and Protection. In doing so, they became the greatest Economic Power the world had ever known, at least since the days of Ancient Babylon.

In addition to these Political States, the USA is also comprised of the following territories, protectorates and possessions:

Territories:

·         American Samoa - since 1878 (original purpose of acquisition: coaling station)
·         Guam - since 1898 (original purpose of acquisition: military significance)
·         United States Virgin Islands - since 1917 (original purpose of acquisition: military significance)

Commonwealths:

·         Puerto Rico - under US control since 1900, became a commonwealth in 1902 (original purpose of acquisition: military significance)
·         Northern Mariana Islands - under US control since 1947, became a commonwealth in 1978 (original purpose of acquisition: military significance)

Possessions:

·         Howland, Baker, and Jarvis Islands - since 1857 (original purpose of acquisition: guano production)
·         Navassa Island - since 1857 (original purpose of acquisition: guano production)
·         Johnston Island - since 1858 (original purpose of acquisition: guano production)
·         Midway Atolls - claimed in 1876, annexed in 1908 (original purpose of acquisition: military significance)
·         Palmyra Atoll - since 1898 (original purpose of acquisition: was part of the Hawaii acquisition)
·         Wake Islands - since 1898 (original purpose of acquisition: military significance)
·         Guantanamo Bay - since 1898 (original purpose of acquisition: military significance)
·         Kingman Reef - since 1922 (original purpose of acquisition: stopping point for air traffic)

Compacts of Free Association:

·         Republic of the Marshall Islands - since 1947 (used for nuclear weapons testing)
·         Republic of Palau - under trusteeship in 1947, gained independence in 1994
·         Federated States of Micronesia - since 1978
In addition to these places it is helpful to know which places have been possessions of the United States in the past as well.  Previously occupied American territories include:
·         Palua 1947—1994
On a more subjective level there are also many countries whose leaders or political systems have been controlled or influenced by the United States in some way over the years.  For the purpose of helping to understand American influence I will include some of these places here and the times in which it is generally accepted that their political systems were under significant influence of the United States.
  • Nicaragua 1855 - 1860
  • Liberia 1820 - 1865
  • Cuba 1898 - 1952
  • Germany 1945 - 1955

  • Guatemala 1953 - 1980s
  • Indonesia/East Timor 1965 - 2002

Now Revelation 17 and 18 specifically then must be dual, they speak of America as the Center of World Trade and Commerce (aka: The World Trade Center), and the actual reborn Nation of Babylon in the Middle East. This is why Revelation 18 and 14 say "Babylon has fallen (1), has fallen (2)". There is no reason any angel would need to declare the fall of Babylon twice unless it literally does fall twice. It's dual, and not limited to one fulfillment. America, called technically a daughter of Babylon by Jeremiah and Isaiah, can only fall once. Then the full and final embodiment of the Nation of Babylon reborn will fall at a later date.

It is important to note that the Backup World Trade computer system had already been set up and came online exactly one hour after commerce ceased in New York City on September 11, 2001. This is in fulfillment of –Revelation 18:8-17.

8 Therefore in one day her plagues will overtake her:
   death, mourning and famine.
She will be consumed by fire,
for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.
9 “When the kings of the earth who committed adultery with her and shared her luxury see the smoke of her burning, they will weep and mourn over her. 10 Terrified at her torment, they will stand far off and cry:
“‘Woe! Woe to you, great city,
   you mighty city of Babylon!

In one hour your doom has come!’

11 “The merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her because no one buys their cargoes anymore— 12 cargoes of gold, silver, precious stones and pearls; fine linen, purple, silk and scarlet cloth; every sort of citron wood, and articles of every kind made of ivory, costly wood, bronze, iron and marble; 13 cargoes of cinnamon and spice, of incense, myrrh and frankincense, of wine and olive oil, of fine flour and wheat; cattle and sheep; horses and carriages; and human beings sold as slaves.
14 “They will say, ‘The fruit you longed for is gone from you. All your luxury and splendor have vanished, never to be recovered.’ 15 The merchants who sold these things and gained their wealth from her will stand far off, terrified at her torment. They will weep and mourn 16 and cry out:

“‘Woe! Woe to you, great city,
dressed in fine linen, purple and scarlet,
and glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls!

17 In one hour such great wealth has been brought to ruin!’

Now you might wonder where this backup computer system is for World Commerce that came online exactly one hour after the Twin Towers fell.

Answer: Babylon

Specifically in the city known today as Baghdad, but in ancient times was known as Babylon.

And people wonder why the USA immediately went to war with Iraq? The computer system and world commerce needed to by protected by a multi-national force to prevent it being monopolized by a dictatorial régime.

Jeremiah 50-51 says 5 times to leave Babylon and go to Jerusalem/Zion.
They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to God in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.

The voice of them that flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of God our God, the vengeance of his temple.

Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of God's vengeance; he will render unto her a recompense.

God hath brought forth our righteousness: come, and let us declare in Zion the work of God our God.
As Babylon hath caused the slain of Israel to fall, so at Babylon shall fall the slain of all the earth. Ye that have escaped the sword, go away, stand not still: remember God afar off, and let Jerusalem come into your mind.

Revelation 18 also tells people to flee so to not take part in her sins and her judgment on them. I am not convinced that this means to physically leave America, but I am convinced it does mean that we should remember that this world is not our ultimate home, and that we should be prepared for anything.

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

While these certainly work on a spiritual level (stop sinning), this does not negate plain sense literal interpretation (physical). How this will play out precisely is yet to be experienced.
Lot, too, had to physically leave Sodom before her judgment (Genesis 14). Did not Jesus say the last days would be like the days Noah (Genesis 6-9), all over again? Like Noah, if Lot had stayed in Sodom to witness to the Sodomites, we might instead be told, "Remember Lot", instead of "Remember Lot's wife" in our instructions for these last days (Luke 17:32). If Noah had not obeyed and built an ark so he could leave the land soon to be judged by being under water, he would have died prematurely and ended his testimony as a different kind of example for our admonishment.

However, Lot's wife's testimony teaches us it’s not enough to just physically leave, but we must really get the love for the world and its ways out of us as well. We need to leave Babylon and get Babylon out of us. Israel, too, had to leave Egypt and get Egypt out of them. On top of all this, Jeremiah 50 and Isaiah 13 speak of the downfall of the American Babylon as exactly like Sodom's. Perhaps the righteous will be fleeing America in the future, just as Lot fled then, or at least fleeing certain more guilty regions of the Empire known currently as the USA.

This brings me to a criticism about the Church in America that continues to preach the "prosperity" of Christians, and socially relevant messages with more foundation in secular psychology and issues of today than Biblical foundation:

Why would God give this American Christian people more of their Idol?

If you can't say Amen, say Ouch.

The Invisible Ingredient...

My Point of View, Part II:
Challenging the Christian Worldview?

People who have experienced the ministry I do understand that part of my calling in life is challenging Christians (and anyone else who listens), in their worldview. I offer challenges for people to shake off the culturally influenced perspectives that cloud their vision of the Bible and its Truth. Those cultural clouds come from both church culture, society, their families and more.
However, unless the Lord opens our eyes to the truth of the Word, we’re all blind no matter how much research we do, knowledge we amass, degrees we achieve, and much we write or preach (Psalm 127:1).
Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh [but] in vain.
All too often, to those of us tasked with being watchmen calling out, it often seems we do so in vain; crying to a Church that is more preoccupied with inner focus for itself, the selfishness of the individual members, or at least the short-sightedness of both. Western church culture truly is wealthy beyond their wildest dreams, yet blinded to it. I suppose us watchmen aren’t much different from our distant brethren of times past who also cried out to a people who had more doubt in their hearts, than faith.
Some of us try to reach out from different angles, perspectives. This but is one.
Care to take a little trip with me to LaLa Land? At least, that’s how some people will view it, probably those who don’t enjoy having their worldview quake.
Out of Place Archaeological Artifacts
What are they? They are items that prove historically that the Bible is True, from the story of Eden to the Temples in Jerusalem, and even the resurrection of Jesus. They are the very things that prove the real world exists. Biblical stories, such as that of The Flood of Noah, described in the Bible’s book of Genesis, Chapter 6 was a real event. Unfortunately, the story found in Genesis 6 doesn't go into much detail, but there are other sources for the information. One source is Archaeology. Out of Place Archaeological Artifacts are proof that much of the history of the world as you may know it is—well—fantasy.
If the Bible is real and the history recorded in it is also real, then everyone else in the world is living in “LaLa Land.” In other words, if you believe the Bible is 100% true, they think you are the one who has gone nuts! Ever read the New Testament Book of Hebrews, Chapter 11? If you think anything I’ve said so far is crazy (or what is to follow), now might be a good time for you to read that chapter!  Did you also know that one can't really call oneself a Christian if you do not believe the Bible is 100% correct? (That would be what the Apostle Paul called, "solid meat[1]" but I digress).
This may be an understatement, but news articles reporting O.O.P.A.ART’s (Out of Place Archaeological Artifacts), do not typically have the same perspective that we Bible-Believers do (sometimes we are Christians, but there are Jewish people out there who also believe those books of the Bible that are acceptable to them). For example, when reading a scientific article that puzzles over the lack of genetic variability about a particular biological study, Darwinian scientists like to ponder what missing link of Darwinian Theory they will someday find under the next an unknown stone. However, we Bible-believers, may look at the same data, wondering at the glory of God to have allowed such biological stability despite genetic breakdown caused by the First Adam’s sin. When uncovering an ancient O.O.P.A.AAR’s site we might ponder briefly the amazing things that must have happened in those days to cause the God's judgment to fall to harshly on that people and civilization.
I often see "Christian" media publications include articles by secularly influenced Darwinian scientists. Quite often these articles appear without editing or commentary, based on the assumption that we Christians would use their "Biblical" filters when reading such an article. Maybe such assumption is one of the Achilles Heals of modern Christianity? But I digress. The same thing happens from the pulpits of a great many churches. There is an assumption that those in the listening audience understand the foundational words, phrases and Biblical concepts that are being spoken about. Most Christians today are so influenced by a Darwinian worldview that Biblical concepts, phrases, context, terminology and general literacy are foreign. It is perpetuated in Religious academic circles where the “Trickle Down” assumption has remained the rule. “Trickle Down” assumes that the new findings and understandings related to the Bible will “Trickle Down” to the average person if they are taught in Seminaries, Bible Colleges, and reported in Scholastic Journals. These are fatal flaws, worthy of multiple standalone articles.
Christians who do have their "Biblical filters" working properly may find it interesting when the authors of scientific articles inadvertently come to conclusions based on secular religious models (read: Darwinian Theory), that support the Bible.  Most often they do not, and I will discuss some of the reasons shortly. If a Christian has been trained up, and exercises discernment while being sensitive to the leading of God’s Spirit, we often come to conclusions that oppose those of the Darwinian worldview. There are certain things that should affect our perspective, such as our understanding of the Bible, God, creation and the flood. However, we need to take care to guard against a prideful arrogance when we see someone such as secular scientist Stephen Jay Gould admit that Darwinian theory has a fatal flaw, “the lack of transitional fossils is the trade secret of paleontology.” It sounds and makes us feel good to be justified from "their side,” and admission is always good if there is true repentance (usually there isn’t), but we need to be careful about our own hearts as well. We must not “lord it over” those who do not have what we have, namely, God’s Spirit, and hopefully, His perspective.

As Bible believing Christians, most of us do not believe that universe is billions of years old, while admitting we don't really know just how old it really is. Of course, there are some notable expectations, such as those who staunchly adhere to the concept of a literal seven day creation. I could poke a few theological holes in that story, but the old saying from Proverbs must be considered, “Answer a fool according to his folly…” (Proverbs 26:4).
This is what we Christians can agree on:  We do know WHO made the Universe and everything in it—or do we?
Most Christians would say that "God" did the creating, but exactly which member of the God-Head (for those not in the know, read: Trinity), did the work is a mystery. Most of us do not know where Jesus begins and His Father ends. We forget that he only said, “You must be born again” one time, but made statements about his mission of introducing us to His Father—whom no man had ever seen[2]—many times. Most of us don’t know who did the creating part, was it Jesus or was it his Father?  Sorry, digression regarding the modern ignorance of 21st Century Christianity. I guess you’ll have to read my upcoming book to learn more, “The Book of God, Volume 1.”
Most Christians do not believe in pre-Adamite races, some do. Those who do believe in civilizations during a pre-Adam world even have some justification for their beliefs given in the writings of ancient schools of Jewish theology. Some of those Jewish scholars discuss as many as 974[3] “creations” prior to Adam! I guess these are discussions for another time, but why those on the Protestant side of the divide can’t seem to muster the courage to even discuss such subjects is beyond the understanding of a great many people. Those who broach these issues are automatically assumed to be “crazy.” Maybe it is a matter of Jesus’ discussion of “motes[4]” in eyes? It probably has something to do with the “throwing the baby out with the bathwater[5]” that occurred in the separation from Catholicism, known as the Protestant Reformation. There are other discussions those of us who fall into the “Protestant” camp should probably have concerning some serious issues of Doctrine that were “cast out bath water” such as these few examples:
·         Doctrines of Confession prior to Communion (1 Corinthians 11): Maybe the answer to why Christians are just as physically sick and afflicted as non-believers?
·         Doctrines regarding The Great Cloud of Witnesses (Hebrews 12): No we shouldn’t pray to Saints or seek them out, but God does allow us at times of His Choosing to converse with those who are in the Lord, yet have died before us.
·         The Doctrine of Foot Washing (Luke 22; John 13; 1 Chronicles 16:23; Psalm 96:2; Isaiah 52:7; Romans 10:15; 2 Sam 15:10; 1 Kgs 1:11, 13, 18; 2 Kgs 9:13; Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:16-17): Maybe the “church” could be stronger with proper preparation for proclaiming the Gospel of Peace?
Maybe we can at least agree that there’s a lot we do not understand, or have lost?
Back to topic: Many who have considered these and other such issues do believe there were advanced civilizations prior to the Flood of Noah, but most Christians haven't thought through the issue thoroughly enough to come to such a conclusion.

Here’s a seemingly unrelated subject: Did you know that most Christians do not believe in space aliens? Most of us who have diligently considered this subject understand how to compare and contrast ancient traditions and modern stories of demonic activity, and see this modern UFO phenomenon for what it is--a continuation of the same thing with a new name. In other words, they are real, just not from Outer Space.

I didn't digress on that last point. Solid meat is very much appropriate to this O.O.P.A.ART’s discussion. If you are not living on the solid food of the Word of God, then this subject could potentially derail your tenuous walk with Jesus. You need to have a firm foundation in order to avoid being taken down un-Biblical roads that contradict the 100% correct Word of God. For that reason, you might want to take a close look at yourself prior to jumping any further into O.O.P.A.ART’s.
